Well, I "hear" that Apple came up with an AirPod hearing test, so having had a very recent audiology test at UNC Med, I wanted to see how close the actual test to the UNC test would correlate. It is remarkable.
As you will see in the images, the Pure Tone Average (PTA) was Apple=20 dBHL vs. UNC=18 dBHL in the left ear and Apple=12 dBHL vs. UNC=10 dBHL in the right ear. Very Close.
More remarkable was how exactly Apple was in the 8kHz range (high frequency) to the UNC test.
Apple intends to use this test to customize "your" AirPod to provide the best hearing experience.
This is where innovation starts: "If I can think it is possible, then it can be possible."
I remember Steve Jobs telling his daughter, "I'm going to put 1,000 songs in your pocket." Her comment: "Yeah, sure, Dad!"
Jobs was a visionary but also could explain in a way we all could understand. This culture (and Jobs's legacy) at Apple lives on and on...So, are you a Reactionary or a Visionary?
